Manakamana temple

The Manakamana temple is located south of historic town Gorkha and situated on a prominent ridge 1560 meters above sea level, overlooking the river valleys of Trisuli in South and Marshyangdi River in West. People believe Manakamana Devi fulfills the wishes of her devotees, thus called the wish fulfilling Deity where hundreds of goats and chickens are sacrificed every day. The reward on reaching the shrine is both spiritual and physical exhilaration. Spectacular views include deep valleys, terraced fields and the mountain range of Manaslu and Annapurna.

Access to Manakamana : 104 kilometers from Kathmandu on the highway to Pokhara, takes 3 hours drive to Kurintar (1302m) and 10 minutes cable car ride takes the visitor to the temple of Goddess of Manakamana.
